At Fraunhofer PYCO a team of scientists develops highly crosslinked polymers (thermosets) for all applications with particular reference to aviation, information and communication technology and instrumentation.
In the range of aerospace, the development work focuses on interior applications and lightweight structures. Fraunhofer PYCO develops polymer systems along the whole supply chain, beginning with monomers up to finished parts.
Research topics: prepreg resins, prepregs, laminates, sandwiches, e.g. for sidewall-panels and airducts; adhesives (repairable, flame-redardant, debondable); infusion resins, FRP out of CFP, GFP and natural fibers; new core materials, e.g. nap core; bistable displays for galleys and logistics.
