At 12.30pm, in hall B1 Upper the winners of the Crystal Cabin Awards, which took place last night were congratulated on stage by Polly Magraw, Event Manager at Aircraft Interiors Expo. The eight innovators in the world of aircraft interiors were:

Cabin Systems class - B/E Aerospace

News:

Petrochemicals group Sabic have unvieled their prototype economy seat which was printed by 3D machines maker Stratasys using material which is already flying in Airbus A350s. Air China has announced that they have selected Recaro's seats for the economy selection of its on-order Airbus A350 fleet. Air New Zealand have confirmed that their 'Sky couch' economy sleeper seats will become available under a license agreement for the Airbus A350 and A330 operators. STG Aerospace have wowed visitors with their expanding product line-up at their stand, and they are confident of growing their original equipment customer base.

 

CabinSpace LIVE:

It was a busy morning at CabinSpace LIVE today. Starting off the day was Flightglobal's session on 'The Future of In-flight entertainment' with discussions from the panel on how passengers can entertain themselves. Guest speakers included Jan-Peter Gaense, Lufthansa Systems, Dawood Al Raise, Oman Air-Engineering & Maintenance and John Magi, SAS Scandinavian Airlines. Flight Global were back again for a late morning session on 'How to make the most out of your cabin space. Later on in the afternoon Ingenieur Klaus Seidler took to the stage to discuss 'Jenoptik: External fault current sensor for ground failure detection'.
