What did I miss 2016 - Day 1

#AIX2016 Day 1

At 9am today the Hamburg Messe doors were opened as eager visitors filled all seven B halls at Hamburg Messe to find the latest innovation at the first day of Aircraft Interiors Expo 2016!

Exhibitors:

Today we caught up with Nigel Duncan of STG Aerospace to see how the first day of Aircraft Interiors Expo 2016 went for him.

News:

With over 530 exhibitors this year, there's a wealth of innovative products and services on show! No stranger to the expo, Boeing, unveiled its latest economy class seat today for its top-selling narrowbody, Airbus has also blown us away with their mock up of the A330neo cabin, two weeks after revealing its Airspace brand at the ceremony in London. Meanwhile over at Thales in hall B4, they have been primarily using their stand to highlight what they describe as the ‘seamless ecosystem’ of integrated in-flight entertainment and connectivity services.

CabinSpace LIVE:

Kicking off the CabinSpace LIVE programme at B1 upper was Flightglobal's session on 'What does the increase in aircraft production rates mean for the industry? 'Chris Seymour, Ascend Flightglobal and Michael Lischke discussed where we are in the demand cycle and whether OEMs are being too over optimistic.

Later on:

The day doesn’t stop there, Aircraft Interiors Expo is still in full swing with the hospitality evening at the exhibitors’ stands here in the B halls, not forgetting the drinks reception over in the A halls to celebrate our co-located show, WTCE’s 5th Anniversary. For those anxiously awaiting the winners of the Crystal Cabin Awards, all will be revealed this evening as the all important Crystal Cabin Award ceremony takes place this evening. Good luck to all the nominees!

Two days to go:

Thanks to everyone who visited today, if you weren’t able to attend today or attended but weren’t able to get around the entire show, there’s still two more days to go.
