See Altair’s CAE and Additive Manufacturing Solutions for the Aerospace Industry

31 Mar 2016

Altair showcases in Hamburg the latest version of its HyperWorks CAE Suite, innovative design processes for 3D printing and other modern manufacturing methods, and tools for the design and optimization of composites

Böblingen, Germany, March 29, 2016 – Altair presents at this year's Aerospace Interiors Expo, April 5 - 7, in Hamburg the latest version of its simulation software suite HyperWorks® 14.0, its concept design and optimization tools solidThinking Evolve® and Inspire® 2016, and new design processes for the development and manufacturing of innovative products.

At its booth Altair will showcase the company's solutions with case studies with a focus on "Design for Additive Manufacturing". Highlights are 3D printed components of Airbus APWorks and Laser Zentrum Nord. Both projects were developed and designed employing Altair's software tools and its simulation driven design method for the creation of innovative products.

Altair also presents its design solutions for laser additive manufacturing methods. Throughout 2016, Altair and Laser Zentrum Nord will offer trainings in which engineers and designers can learn how to develop and design state of the art metal 3D-printed products. The companies also collaborate on projects for various customers from different industries, such as automotive and aerospace.

At the Aerospace Interiors Expo Altair gives insights into:

  • Lightweight Design
  • Design to Cost
  • Beyond Black Metal Composite Design
  • Technology Symbiosis: Topology Optimization and Additive Manufacturing
  • Simulation Driven Design

“We are happy to be at the Aerospace Interiors Expo again," said Mirko Bromberger, Director Marketing and Additive Manufacturing Strategies at Altair Engineering. “The show is a good platform for us to present our lightweight design enabling solutions, amongst other, for additive manufacturing and the design and optimization for composites. Especially the aerospace industry fosters lightweight design like no other industry. Every part from the smallest component to the overall structure has to be weight optimized because the lighter a plane is the more loading capacity it can offer and the longer is its reach. Our tools and methods enable designs, offering both, fuel efficiency and safety at the same time."
