The project consisted of 2 steps: conducting a full scan of the plane interior and creating 3D model files. Once the data was acquired and compiled, the files were post-processed before being transferred to Creaform's CAD Department in Lévis for step 2.

Case Studies
Creaform has been involved in the 3D laser scan of a small 4 seater airplane. The company who built this aircraft could not rely on the 2D drawings. At the time, these drawings had not been updated with the modifications made to the manufactures 3D parts. Thus, the people in charge of the project decided to use laser scanning and CAD surfacing technologies in order to build the panels, the wings and other air-washed surfaces in a fast, cost-effective and simple way.
