Beadlight launches new unique customer driven Reading Light Technology
Beadlight’s new reading light collections offer premium class passengers the light to read by that exactly suits their eyes. Combining Beadlight proprietary technologies with variable colour temperature and conventional touch screen technology, reading illumination (colour & intensity) is chosen by the user to suit their own requirements.
A combination of technologies now provides choice to the Business flyer to vary intensity, colour temperature, fading, “settings: saving and recall” of their reading light all through the IFE or menu driven touchscreen.
These unique lights were launched at the Aircraft Interiors Exhibition 2012 (Hamburg) and originally designed for Premium Class Aircraft Seats with the hospitality range (for top hotels, cruise liners, mega yachts and high end residential) to be released in early April.
Much is talked about intelligent lighting and it is increasingly found where mood lighting can alter an environment for the better but now Beadlight take reading lights to the next level.
Beadlight, in launching four new reading lights, three (with chip on board) have the option to be programmed for multiple features. Most obvious, is the ability to allow premium class guests the choice of reading light with not only intensity control but also variable colour temperature to take the light from a cool white to a warm white depending on one’s preference. Digital control over one’s environment is already with us and digital reading lights are the logical future offering choice where none existed before.
Features include:
Intensity control
Variable white light (Patent pending)
Soft fading on and off
Settings memory
In the World of Interior Design, when it comes to specification of reading lights, one of the big questions is always “are the LEDs cool or warm white?” Designers then need to consider what their clients would like. The dilemma is that a cool white light is better to read by in that there will be a better contrast between text and background but as the human eye has evolved over millions of years in bright sun light and fire light there is a natural tendency to consider a warm white light.
Beadlight gives the user the choice, where it belongs.
Current intelligent reading lights include:
