Airlines are dedicated to their passengers but also committed to cost-effectiveness. Accordingly, they appreciate competent assistance in handling their extremely com-plex projects. Lantal’s contributions include project management, consulting, labora-tory testing and engineering services, as well as in-depth all-in-one solutions exper-tise. “Our services simplify, expedite, and streamline cabin projects and support the airline brand,” says Peter Kämpfer, Executive Vice President Markets. “The airline benefits from a single point of contact, vastly reduced paperwork, lower costs, and less complexity in process management together with minimized uncertainties and operational risks.”
Conceptual Forecast – more than trends:
Developed every year, Lantal’s Conceptual Forecast stands out as a treasure chest of ideas for professionals, allowing them to integrate seat cover fabrics, carpets, leathers, and curtains in a conceptually coherent overall design concept. The under-lying issue is always to assure the highest level of passenger well-being and to strengthen the airline’s brand.
The highlights in seat cover fabrics are enchanting large-repeat color gradations and relief effects, complemented by smooth stripes, granular textures and waffle patterns. Colorways emphasize subtle blues, elegant graphite grays, earthy hues, and zesty accents. In carpets, fishbone and tweed classics have been reinterpreted and paired with structures as well as novel patterns featuring generous faded re-peats. Matching curtains and leathers round out the collection with designs and col-ors based on Lantal’s highly respected trendletter.
Lufthansa on board:
Lantal’s weight-saving, maintenance-free Pneumatic Comfort System, nominated as a Crystal Cabin Award finalist in 2009, is gaining more and more momentum. Airlines are using the PCS as a positioning tool while benefiting from the fast and predictable return on Investment. Roland von Ballmoos, Vice President Pneumatic Systems, notes: “Outfitting processes by seat manufacturers and airlines are simplified in particular thanks to extensive integration services with engineering, documentation, and the possibility of procuring complete cushion configurations with protection and dress covers.”
In the first half of 2012, Lufthansa will introduce the innovative system for its next-generation long-haul business class seats delivered by B/E Aerospace. Brussels Airlines and four additional carriers also selected the PCS for their new long-haul business class seats provided by Thompson Aero Seating. Equipped with the Pneumatic Comfort System and a massage function, they will assure maximum passenger comfort.
The air-filled seat cushions, replacing conventional foams in aircraft seats, offer unprecedented seating and sleeping comfort. Passengers of Swiss International Air Lines have enjoyed this revolutionary technology in all business and first class seats of the carrier’s long-haul A330-300 and A340 fleet for almost three years.
