BURBANK, Calif. – March 26, 2012 – Crane Aerospace & Electronics has been selected by Contour Aerospace Limited to provide the new ‘next-generation’ mcX Premium Modular Control System on Contour’s First Class Premium Seats for installation on commercial aircraft. Crane is featuring the new ‘next-generation’ mcX Premium Modular Control System at booth 5B57 at the Aircraft Interiors show in Hamburg.
The new mcX Premium Modular Control System was introduced by Crane last year at the annual Aircraft Interiors show in Hamburg. The patent-pending modular system architecture reduces overall hardware and wiring complexity, provides improved maintainability, reliability and system diagnostics, and enables the system to be easily scalable and customizable.
“We are very proud to work with Contour on this revolutionary design and to provide an enhanced passenger experience for Contour’s airline customers,” said Chris Cook, Vice President of Cabin System Solutions for Crane Aerospace & Electronics. “Passengers will experience smooth and synchronous seat motion, less system noise, and a variety of luxury features with our integrated systems in the Contour seat.”
Crane Aerospace & Electronics has over 60 years experience in aircraft seat control. Over 50,000 premium passenger seats are currently installed with Crane’s electronic actuation systems, and over 1.5 million main cabin seats are currently installed with Crane’s legacy recline systems, including Hydroloks, cables, and mechanical controls.
