The high-performance material PPSU is mandatory for specific application areas in the wide-body aircrafts A330, A340, A380 and A350. Polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) is used, amongst other things, in shower doors, cabinet doors of sales rooms and in large surface magazine racks. The leading northern German plastics trader and processor, Arthur Krüger GmbH, is capable of thermally forming this extremely hard and robust plastic.
Arthur Krüger manages not only to shape PPSU with thermal processes into just about any shape, it can also carry out comprehensive CNC processing and polish surfaces to a high-gloss finish.
PPSU is characterised by an extremely high-performance combination of thermal, electrical and mechanical properties and can be processed transparently or in RAL colours. The material thicknesses are 4-5 mm for the transparent material and up to 6 mm for the coloured material. Airbus First Class suppliers rely on PPSU as this meets the requirements of flame-resistance as per FAR 25853 (a)(b) and OSU 65/65.
The plastics processing company from Barsbüttel near Hamburg meets all requirements as a Cabin Interior specialist through the EASA certification as per Part 21 G, Part 145 and as per EN9100.
Arthur Krüger will be presenting their aviation range at the AIX from 27-29.03.2012 in Hamburg, Hall B 6, in the Hanse Pavilion, Stand 21.
