Steve Collard is Director Strategic Sourcing at Star Alliance, the world’s longest serving airline alliance. He is responsible for developing strategies for and executing joint procurement initiatives on behalf of the Alliance’s 26 member airlines. Steve has managed initiatives for inflight consumables, aircraft interiors, MRO/aircraft parts, facilities, information technology, revenue management and ground operations.

Under his leadership, Star Alliance launched an industry first with the development of the Star Plus Seat product which is aimed at creating a standardised long haul economy seat platform that allows carriers to differentiate through use of a catalogue of unique features, while lowering the total cost of ownership.

Steve Collard has over 15 years of airline procurement experience, having joined Star Alliance in 2004 from Northwest Airlines where he was Manager of the Corporate Purchasing team, responsible for the procurement and inventory management of a broad portfolio of operational products.

Prior to his tenure in the airline industry, he held various procurement and engineering positions at Westinghouse Electric Corporation in its robotics, nuclear fuel, power generation and transport refrigeration business units.

Steve Collard has a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. He currently resides in Frankfurt, Germany.
