Be it a music festival or a sporting event for thousands there is more and more demand on events to be environmentally friendly, ethically sound and of benefit to the economy.
The BSI British Standards provides a system for managing the overall environmental, economic and social impact of an event. This system is known as BS 8901, and sets requirements for planning and managing a sustainable event.
To claim compliance with the standard an organisation must define and implement its sustainability policy, monitor and evaluate the event against key performance indicators and eventually review the event, feeding conclusions back into the policy to positively affect future events.
With commitment to continual improvement Aircraft Interiors Expo works closely with industry professionals and governing bodies to excel standards in sustainability. The transparency of these actions are seen through our involvement and compliance with BS8901, the British Standard for Sustainable Event Management.

10 Sustainable Activities
We have designed the 10 Sustainable Activities to help our exhibitors get involved with Aircraft Interiors Expo Sustainability Standard (BS8901). We understand that significant change will only result from a combined effort from the organisers, venue, suppliers but also exhibitors and visitors.
Each of the 10 actions have been designed for easy implementation, the activities are specific to Aircraft Interiors Expo Hamburg. It won’t necessarily make you or your company sustainable, but it’s as good a starting point as any and is a great way to contribute and be recognised as part of Aircraft Interiors Expo Hamburg’s sustainability drive.
If you complete 5 or more we will present a sustainability certificate onsite at the show to thank you for taking part.
